in collaboration with the Association "Big Brothers Big Sisters".

The youth exchange “Think Global, Act Local” took place between 23rd and 29th April 2018 at Brestnik, Plovdiv, Bulgaria and was a part of the long-term project “Global Responsibility Education”, funded by KA1 of the Erasmus+ Program.

30 youngsters and their leaders from 6 countries took part. The main aim of the exchange was to introduce in detail to the youngsters from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Turkey and Romania the initiative of the UN Global Responsibility and the essence of its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Our enthusiastic team of 5 Greek youngsters gives us an insight to their experience:
"The project in Brestnik was a unique experience for me, I gain better aspect about global problems and the ways that United Nation deal with them. The place and the people were amazing, also the structure of the project. Especially when participants promote the understanding of cultural diversity. Every youth exchange is a lifetime experience."
Savvas

"Through workshops, presentations, fierce debates and creative city games we got familiarised with the Goals and learnt how to promote them at local level. Organizationally wise the project was impeccable! From the amazing venue to the logistics, traditional Bulgarian food and street actions we took part, every single bit added to a great experience!
Projects of such high quality are the best kind of promotion for Erasmus+ in general.
Bravo guys! Keep up the good work!"
Christos

"It was really great to travel to Bulgaria and be a part of this project! I enjoyed spending time with the greek team and I have built strong bonds with some of the participants. It helped me learn more about the other cultures of Balkans and their way of thinking. So, I consider this Erasmus+ Youth exchange as an opportunity to come closer to people from other countries that I have never met before and to make international friendships.
In general, the activities were interesting and the promotion of the campaign "Safe Internet" in the central park of Plovdiv was a creative moment.  I already miss the people that I met there and I wish I will have the chance to meet them again! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make this week one f the most memorable!

"The April of 2018 the youth organization “Dream Team” sent me to Brestnik, a village of Bulgaria a few miles away from Plovdiv, for an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange program with topic “Think global, Act local”.
It was a beautiful and intense experience since I had the opportunity to make international friends, to get to know more than 30 different personalities and 6 cultures.
During the six days of the program we participated in a lot of interesting activities which were very educational and helped us understand the importance of “17 global goals for a sustainable future” and how we can apply them in our daily lives. Also, there was a lot of conversations and presentations concerning the economic, social, environmental and political situation of every participant country with the purpose of brainstorming and getting ideas which could be helpful to our country in order to achieve a sustainable and more optimistic future with more smiles!"
