All under the snowy skies of Wetzlar!

Dates: 2-10 January, 2026

Location: Sportjugend HESSEN CAMP in Wetzlar, Germany

Participants: Young people age 18-21 years old

students, eco-activists, and anyone ready to make a difference.

Description of the project:

This Youth Exchange is totally different from what you have already lived! 

10 days in a sports camp in Wetzlar, indoor&outdoor games, sports activities and trips to discover the region, intercultural evenings, language animation games and a lot of time to network and learn from each other!!

We expect the project to have a positive impact on the group of participants, the international team leaders and the international planning team.

The European "Stand Up for Our Planet - Unite for a Green Future“ Camp Winter Edition 2026 should be an exemplary example or microcosm for the european society. Diversity, democratic practice, understanding coexistence, solidarity and participation should be experienced and reached.

Fears of contact and prejudices regarding different cultures, religions, disadvantages or different social milleus should be reduced.

Project objectives:

- Social inclusion: Through the low-threshold access and the urge for sport and movement, which is equal for all people beyond disabilities, disadvantages, religious or cultural backgrounds, group processes will be initiated, resulting in a (european) team-spirit.

- European identity: A multilateral group consisting of 45 participants from 6 different European countries should make a decisive contribution to breaking down prejudices.

- Intercultural learning through exchange of people with different cultural backrounds. Be prepared for intercultural evenings!

- Participation, democracy and respect for human rights: Through theory-based workshops directly addressed, but also by interactive methods, living and participating in a democratic, maximum participatory overall structure of the sports camp, the topics are to be conveyed "incidentally", almost "subconsciously".

Travel: 

Arrivals: We will provide a shuttle-service from Frankfurt International Airport or a guide from Frankfurt Central Station to  Landessportbund Hessen - all participants should be present at the Landessportbund Hessen  on 2nd January 2026 before 15:00 p.m. We will travel to our final destination in Wetzlar at 16.00 pm by bus. We also offer a lunch at the arriving day at our restaurant in Frankfurt.

Departures: departure time on 10th January 2026 should not be earlier than 13:00 pm in order to have time for the shuttle.

Venue:

We will stay at our group house, the sports and education center, is one of the seminar houses of the Hessen Sports Youth Association and is a venue for training camps, school trips, choir meetings, and sports trips.

All rooms have a private bathroom/WC attached.

What to bring:

We would like to remind you to bring your travel documents, health insurance cards, warm and waterproof clothes for snow and outdoor activities, sports and swimwear, sturdy and warm shoes, indoor sport shoes, towels (no bedsheets required) and a reusable water bottle.

Due to wintertime in Germany you should bring gloves and hats too.

As we have bedsheets for everyone, no sleeping bags are required.

Participating countries: We expect around 45 young people between 16 and 21 years from Czech, Italy, Spain, Greece, Ukraine and Germany.
